Why Direct Access Internal Medicine is Different
In the traditional healthcare system, providers must see anywhere from 25 to 35 patients in a typical workday, caring for over 2,000 patients in total. The nature of these high-volume practices results in shortened office visits, long waits, a lack of accessibility, and poor quality care. At Direct Access, we have limited our practice to a more manageable number of patients. By doing so, we are able to provide unprecedented access to dependable providers and dedicated medical staff.
We are first and foremost our patient’s advocates. We strive to support and invest in our patient's care and well-being, and we believe in supporting our patients from age 12 to later life stages. This includes guiding patients through the intricacies and complexities of today’s healthcare system. If there comes a time when we aren’t able to provide the specific care needed, our care does not stop there. We connect our patients with referrals to specialists, and we make sure that connection happens.
Responsive to Patient Needs
There is currently a substantial need for available social workers, psychologists, and mental healthcare workers in the area, and in realizing and understanding our patient’s ongoing needs, Direct Access Internal Medicine hired Brad Skelding, a licensed clinical social worker, in March of 2022. Finding psychological care is a challenge, therefore it made perfect sense to add this service for our patients.
Consistent Care
When further medical care is deemed necessary, Dr. Haggerty admits our patients to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. He also provides rehabilitation services at Sanders Riverside. For example, Dr. Haggerty would see our patient at Sanders instead of the doctor at Sanders. This is one way that Direct Access provides consistent and continued care. In addition, our homebound patients receive care in the comfort of their own homes.
DAIM Bills your Insurance
Direct Access charges for concierge services, but what sets us apart from other medical concierge services is that we also bill your health insurance. This gives our patients more access to higher-quality care while paying lower fees for concierge medical service. Many medical concierge services are priced higher because of the fact that they do not bill your health insurance.
Peace of Mind
Direct Access Internal Medicine has been practicing concierge care in Gloucester since 2011, and our providers and staff have grown roots both personally and professionally in the area since long before. We work to not only provide the highest quality of care but also strive to create positive patient experiences from start to finish. We look forward to getting to know our patients, asking about their families, and welcoming them with a smile as they walk through our door.
